Jared Polis to Speak Sept. 2

August 20, 2010 By: P2PAdmin Category: Events, P2P Lunch, Speakers

Please join the Peak to Peak Rotary Club on September 2nd when CD2 incumbent, Jared Polis will come to speak and answer questions about his office and candidacy. Our club is proud to set the example of reasoned discourse in politics. If you’re looking for a pleasant lunch with pleasant company and a calm, respectful place to address political questions to a candidate, this is the place! Guest lunches are still just $10 for the Isle’s amazing buffet! We meet Thursdays from 11:30 to 1Pm with the program from 12:15 to 1PM. If you’d like more information on attending lunch, just give Michelle a call at 303-582-3934 or drop her a note (the best way) at michelle@northrup.com .

Save the Red Men Cemetery!

June 10, 2010 By: P2PAdmin Category: Call for Help, Community News, Events, Fellowship, Service Projects

The Red Men Cemetery at the top of Eureka in Central City is being decimated by overuse, with vandalism and damage to stones and greenery - The Historical Advisory Preservation Commission, in partnership with the Cities of Black Hawk and Central and the County of Gilpin, will be leading a community effort on JUNE 26th from 9 am until the job is done to get this area spruced up and protected. Our community will gather there for a bit of food and then aim to replace the old fences and install signage about the area’s history. Come and learn about the Red Men Cemetery and enjoy fellowship with your community while helping to keep it beautiful and preserve history for generations to come. For more info, send us a note.

WOW. Rail and Water Presentation a Hit

June 07, 2010 By: P2PAdmin Category: Events, P2P Lunch, Service Projects, Speakers

Cora Meneceur gave an OUTSTANDING presentation on global water projects on behalf of the District 6960 (Florida) Water Projects Committee. We learned how water projects are funded and by whom, and how the work gets done. We owe a great debt to Cora and the District 6960 WP committee for bringing this informative presentation to us. And special thanks to the Moore’s and Linda Jones for helping to make her visit comfortable and fun. Thanks to everyone for this great program!! If you would like more information on the Rotary Rail and Water Tour and their projects, please visit http://centralasiawater.org/service.php or find the Rotary Rail and Water Tour on Facebook!

Peak to Peak Rotary Photos Are Up!

March 01, 2010 By: P2PAdmin Category: Club Organization, Events, Member Articles, Paul Harris Fellows, Rotary Awards

The Peak to Peak Rotary Club now has a Flickr website where you catch see photos of our events, speakers and Rotary memories.

It takes a bit to load, tag and title these pictures all at once, so I’ll be adding one set per week – be sure to check back each Tuesday for the next set.

First up is our fantastic Anniversary Party set – find it here if that link didn’t work: http://www.flickr.com/photos/47977696@N03/sets/72157623412189481/.

Next week I’ll be adding our speakers. Do you have photos of your Rotary experiences that you would like to share? Michelle can scan actual photos in, or you can send digital photos to her via email, or add them yourself! See Michelle at club for a password and instructions on how to add photos to our site.

Call for Help: Anyone available to go to Golden?

February 01, 2010 By: P2PAdmin Category: Call for Help, Events, Networking

Michelle overbooked her Tuesday (again) and is looking to lose some weight – is anyone available to attend the Golden Rotary Club at Rolling Hills in Golden tomorrow (Tuesday) morning at 7 am?

I know it’s late notice and eeeeaaarly traveling but you never know unless you ask…

The purpose is to extend another announcement/invitation to the Golden Club to attend our event. You can pick up tickets from me or just take names and checks, or direct folks to the website for more info…

Call for Help: Your Rotary Memories

January 20, 2010 By: P2PAdmin Category: Call for Help, Club Organization, Events

Michelle is working on the programming, scrapbook and history presentation for our club’s anniversary. Since I’m so new, I have little to go on.

If you have Rotary memories to share – a story, photos, artifacts, etc. – please contact me to get them included in our history book, and help Michelle create a good presentation for our awards program.

For personal safekeeping, all items will be electronically scanned and returned to you. You can bring items to club and I’ll bring them back the following week. Or, if you have items stored electronically such as digital photos, just bring me a disk. If you have a story to tell but don’t want to write it down, Michelle will come to you and listen. I love stories. :)

Thanks a bunch everyone. I hope that, as a newer member and with your help, that I can put together a presentation that will be special for everyone.
